    Camping in any of the Honolulu City and County parks is managed by the department of parks and recreation. Camping is allowed Friday through Wednesday, though the various parks are open different days and seasons. The campsites are closed during the day Wednesday and Thursday for maintenance. Applicants must apply for a camping permit in person at the parks office, and no early than 2 weeks prior to the camping period.
